Elevator Wire Rope Fastener U Clip

Elevator Wire Rope Fastener U Clip

Elevator wire rope fastener U clips are essential mechanical parts used to secure or terminate the ends of elevator hoist ropes. They play a key role in keeping the wire ropes firmly in place, ensuring safe and stable operation of the elevator system. These clips are often used together with wedge sockets or for connecting parallel ropes during installation, adjustment, or maintenance work.

Common types of elevator rope fasteners:

• U-Bolt Wire Rope Clips:
This is the most widely used type. It includes a U-shaped bolt, a saddle, and two nuts. In elevator systems, these clips are typically used to secure the dead end (tail) of the rope after it passes through a wedge socket. Proper installation is important to ensure a strong and secure grip.
• Double Saddle (Fist-Grip) Clips:
These clips have two saddles, providing equal pressure on both sides of the rope. They are often preferred in elevator applications because they are easier to install correctly and reduce the risk of incorrect fitting, which improves safety.
• Robling Clamps:
These are specialized clamps, usually made from aluminum or cast iron, designed to connect two parallel wire ropes. They are commonly used by elevator technicians during maintenance or rope adjustment, allowing multiple ropes to share the load safely.

Overall, elevator wire rope fastener clips are small but critical components that help maintain proper tension, secure connections, and safe performance in elevator systems.
