Elevator 5 Way Intercom Set
What is a 5 Way Elevator Intercom?
It’s a full-grade emergency audio safety system that links 5 critical elevator locations for rescue, breakdown response, and lift maintenance, exceeding basic 3-way intercom standards.
The five connected terminals:
- Elevator Cabin (for trapped passengers)
- Car Top (technicians working on lift roof)
- Lift Pit Bottom (workers inside the shaft pit)
- Machine Room (elevator control cabinet station)
- Security / Property Duty Room (central monitoring host)
Complete Kit Components
- Cabin hands-free SOS intercom (mounted inside lift car)
- Car-top call handset (installed on elevator roof)
- Pit bottom waterproof intercom unit (shaft base)
- Machine room wall handset
- Main master station (security office, displays active lift numbers)
- Supporting parts: shielded wiring, UPS emergency backup power, lightning protection, junction boxes
Two variants: wired bus type (stable for new construction) & GSM wireless set (for old building retrofits).
How It Works (Full Operation Flow)
Scenario 1: Passenger trapped in elevator cabin
- Rider presses cabin SOS button, triggering alerts to machine room, pit, car top AND security master station all at once.
- All 5 terminals ring simultaneously; security, on-site maintenance technicians in pit/car top/machine room can answer.
- 5-party simultaneous group voice chat activates: trapped passenger can speak directly with every on-site technician and security staff at the same time.
- Independent UPS backup power keeps the system functional during full elevator power failure for emergency rescue coordination.
Scenario 2: Technician servicing the lift shaft
- If a worker is stuck on the car top or deep inside the pit, they press the local call button on their respective intercom unit.
- Alerts send to machine room and security office instantly. All connected stations join a shared audio channel to coordinate repairs or rescue without walking between floors.
Scenario 3: Security routine check
Key Functional Advantages vs 3-Way Intercom
- 3-way only covers cabin, machine room, security office; no shaft-side communication for technicians.
- 5-way adds car top + pit bottom units to eliminate blind zones inside the elevator shaft, critical for technician safety compliance.
- Built-in noise suppression filters motor/shaft static for clear audio in noisy working environments.
- Supports self-fault detection: the main host alerts management if any pit/car-top intercom malfunctions.
